Last year, the Texas State Legislature awarded Roanoke, Texas with the title of “Unique Dining Capital of Texas.” You may not have heard much about it yet, but stay tuned. The renovation of historic downtown Oak Street, which began in January of 2009, should come to completion in April of this year – just a few months away. To celebrate the city’s designation and construction completion, Roanoke has planned Unique Week, a one-week celebration in April that will include music, food, fun, and best of all – community!
Some restaurants, like Classic Café, Babe’s, and Prairie House (on 377) have brought Roanoke residents downtown for years now. New additions include Cowboy Chow, Twisted Root, and One Fish Two Fish (on 377). Tortilla Flats offers breakfast and lunch on an airy patio, and the Mi Familia Mexican Restaurant has a full menu of Tex-Mex, as well
as a bar, Iguana Mojado Cantina (The Wet Iguana). Click Here for Specials! All of these Roanoke, Tx restaurants are family friendly, and if you’re dining downtown anyway, be sure to check out some of the cool shops.
